SSC JE Exam Pattern
Since 2015 RRB made a major change in the selection process for SSC JE from Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical stream. The interview round had been eliminated and candidates need to qualify the written exam only. The written exam will consist of 2 papers:
- Paper I- Objective type
- Paper II- Conventional Type

Negative Marking: Negative Marking is applicable to Paper I only. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer attempted in Paper 1. Be noted there will be no negative marking applicable in Paper 2 on essay-type written paper.
IMPORTANT: Conventional type exam Paper II will be checked for those candidates only; who will qualify in Paper 1.
AGE CRITERIA FOR SSC JE Exam
(I) 18 to 27 years age for JE (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts.
(II) Up to 30 years for JE (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) in MES.
(III) Up to 32 years for JE (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage.
(IV) 18 to 27 years of age for Junior Engineers (Quantity Surveying and Contract) in MES.
(V) Up to 30 years of age for Junior Engineer (Civil) and JE (Electrical & Mechanical) in Border Roads Organization (BRO) of Ministry of Defence.
IMPORTANT: Age relaxation will be implemented for SC/ST/PWD and Ex-servicemen candidates, as per the regulations of the Government of India.
